* BIOGRAPHICAL CHRONICLE OF INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTION - ExRotaprint, Wedding - May 27th 15:00 - Entrance free
Set in the unusual and suggestive setting of ExRotaprint, a former printer factory in Wedding, the Biographical Chronicle of Industrial Production retraces the stories of the people who produced the world we live in today. Using a model of the construction of the ExRotaprint factory, participants will re-present the workers originally involved in the construction of the building over 60 years ago by appearing ‘on stage’ for a time proportional to the the historical person they are representing. This time ‘on stage’ will generally be quite short, on the average 5 seconds up to one minute at a time...The rest of the participants, when not on stage or getting ready to go on stage, will produce background sounds ‘back stage’ for the performance. The sounds will consist of physical sounds like shuffling feet and vocal sounds like whispering, murmuring and humming. The BCIP is an experimental, site-specific and outdoor performance by Baruch Gottlieb in collaboration with Francesca Romana Ciardi and The Oral Syndicate. Come and join in (arrive around 1pm) or come just to watch (arrive at 3pm).

MPA-B is a non-funded initiative, which raised enough financial support to cover for promotional and production costs through the completion of a successful crowdfunding campaign and a fundraising party. The lack of funding for initiatives such as MPA-B is a reality faced by many independent projects in Berlin. In view of this, an important online petition has been launched to call on the city of Berlin to re-evaluate its current financial stance and budget planning towards independently produced cultural and artistic projects. 2012 is a key decision-making year during which the EU budget 2014-2020 will be voted upon by Members of the European Parliament and Ministers from the Member States. EU support to culture over the next seven years is at stake and the negotiations over the first four months of 2012 will be crucial. The campaign 'we are more - act for culture in Europe' calls for vital support for culture in the next EU budget and wants to collect 100.000 signatures and present them to the Culture Ministers of all EU Member States when they gather in Brussels for the EU Council of Culture Ministers the 10th of May 2012.
